On The Generation Of Image And Its Woes

I Looked Long And Hard On The Interwebs, And I'm Pretty Sure That I'm The First Person To Make The "Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh My" Joke With A Reference To Bear Force One.

Well it’s Christmas. So Merry Christmas to all that swing that way! And a hearty Awesome Chrismahanuramakwanzafestivyulestice to everyone else! To the full-blown Atheists in the room, I say have a good day.

So far I have been celebrating the holiday by remaining horizontal for as long as possible. I have yet to actually get out of bed. It’s been a pretty good day so far. (EDIT: I have gotten up but only to get some food and a Woodchuck cider!) The kiddo got the rest of his presents and had a fairly good time with the Playstation Move controller and the Move pack for Little Big Planet 2. The wife wants to play a bit of Skyrim later. So, I’m basically #winning all day.

But before that all gets going, it is most definitely time for my annual reading of the heartwarming holiday classic, “The Junky’s Christmas” by William S. Burroughs. Nothing says Christmas to me more than this story. You’ll see!

Happy Solstice!

It’s Midwinter (and by my count the 64th “New Years” celebration that my family has had this year), and that means that it’s time to tuck into some shortbread and Irish Whiskey! And to eat. Tomorrow we are once again having our (apparently mandatory) Solstice celebration. We’ve spent the last couple of days in a whirlwind of cleaning and organizing and general redding up in the house to get ready to be invaded visited by some of our friends. The Midwinter Solstravaganza is one of our most popular annual parties, second only to the throw-down that is Ice Cream Social Warfare (which is our ice cream, champagne and water gun party). Because of Michele’s broken leg, we had to cancel Ice Cream Social Warfare this year, so tomorrow is basically the first social gathering that we’ve hosted this year. And seeing as this calendar year is almost over, that kind of blows.

Anyway, here’s too songs by Rosa Mundi for the Solstice.
